Multiple waterfalls cascading through lush jungle in Tetebatu, Lombok
Lombok · Indonesia

Tetebatu: Lombok's Emerald Secret.

Rice terraces, hidden waterfalls, black langur monkeys, and a Sasak feast. All in four hours.

The Green Heart
of Lombok.

Tucked behind Mount Rinjani, where the maps become pleasantly vague, sits Tetebatu. A highland village of terraced paddies, hidden waterfalls, and black langur monkeys who regard visitors with the polite indifference of old money. It is, in short, the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever bothered going anywhere else.

Born Here. Still Here.

Your guides grew up in Tetebatu. They know which trail avoids the slippery stones after rain, which waterfall is coldest in July, and why the Black Langurs prefer the western tree line. This is not a job. It is their home, and they would like to show it to you.

Tours are run by a small team of local guides — all from the village, all fluent in the kind of English that gets things done without a dictionary. Groups are capped at ten so that every question gets a proper answer.

Things People Ask
Before Clicking Book.

What's included in the tour?
Transport to and from your accommodation anywhere on Lombok, a local guide for the full four hours, and a sit-down Sasak lunch at Edi's warung — a local home restaurant where you order from the menu (a proper meal, not a packed box). Along the trail there is sometimes a stop at a small warung where you can try local snacks — very cheap, entirely optional. What is not included: your sense of direction, which we cannot be held responsible for.
How fit do I need to be?
Reasonably fit. The trek covers 10–12 km on uneven terrain — paddy paths, jungle trails, and a few river crossings. You do not need to be an athlete, but you should be comfortable walking for several hours. The reward-to-effort ratio is, we are told, exceptional.
What should I bring?
Swim kit — this is mandatory. You will regret skipping the waterfall. Add shoes with grip, a light layer for the early morning, sunscreen, and a small daypack. We handle the rest.
Can we swim in the waterfalls?
Yes. Enthusiastically recommended. The waterfalls are the highlight for most guests, and the water is cold enough to reset your entire outlook on life.
How do I book?
Send us a WhatsApp message with your date, group size, and where you are staying on Lombok. We will confirm within a few hours. No deposit required upfront — just a message.

Ready to Disappear into the Green?

Tell us your date, your group size, and where you're staying. We will organise the transport, reserve your table at Edi's warung, and have a guide ready who knows these trails better than most people know their own street.
